2010 Ninth Biennial Conference
Just The Beginning Foundation (JTBF) is coming to Atlanta, Georgia, for its ninth conference. The conference brings together a diverse group of federal and state judges, lawyers, law professors, law students, college students, and high school and middle school students to enjoy the living stories of judges of diverse backgrounds, and to participate in public panel discussions focused on contemporary legal issues. The 2010 conference is sponsored by firms, corporate organizations and Just The Beginning Foundation.
The conference theme- “Reaching Back, Lifting Up”- exemplifies JTBF’s mission statement. We seek to strengthen the connection between those in the legal profession and those just entering our field (or those beginning to consider law as a career) through mentorship and advocacy. As we focus on increasing diversity in the law, we look to and honor those that came before us to integrate the judiciary, and we extend a hand back to those who are following in our footsteps to support their journey.
